Enhancing a Swansea Valley Farmhouse with Elegant Range Oven Cooker Install
Located in the picturesque Swansea Valley, Gellionen Mountain in Trebanos offers breathtaking views of the surrounding Welsh countryside. This area, known for its natural beauty, is home to attractions such as the historic Swansea Canal, the vibrant Pontardawe Arts Centre, and the enchanting Craig-y-Nos Country Park. Close to the vibrant towns of Pontardawe and Clydach, Trebanos maintains its rural charm whilst providing easy access to modern amenities.
It was in this idyllic setting that we at Hopkins Log Burners recently completed a multifuel stove installation project, bringing warmth and character to a detached farmhouse.
Our Swansea Valley team’s expertise in stove and flue installation was put to the test, resulting in a seamless integration of modern heating technology with the property’s rustic aesthetics.

Milan Lux Multifuel Stove: Precision Installation Process
Our installation process for the Milan Lux multifuel stove in Trebanos was meticulously planned and executed.
We began by centralising and laying a 50mm sandstone hearth, providing a sturdy and aesthetically pleasing foundation for the stove. The stove was then carefully aligned with the centre of the room, ensuring optimal heat distribution and visual appeal.
Once we were satisfied with the stove’s positioning, we turned our attention to the flue installation. Our team’s expertise in stove and flue installation came to the fore as we navigated the complexities of the property’s structure.
We ran the 5″ black twin wall flue to avoid the timber frame, expertly manoeuvring it to exit neatly between the timbers. In doing so, we maintained the required 50mm distance to combustible materials, adhering strictly to safety regulations.
Overcoming Roofing Challenges: Flue Installation Through a Rubber Flat Roof
The next phase of our installation process involved addressing the unique challenges presented by the property’s rubber flat roof. With precision and care, we cut through the roof, creating a passage for the flue. To ensure a weatherproof seal, we installed a flat roof flashing, effectively preventing any potential leaks.
As we extended the flue upwards, we secured it at intervals using flat rafter brackets. This approach not only provided stability but also allowed us to extend the flue far and high enough to meet all relevant regulations.
The final touch was the addition of an anti-downdraft cowl, a crucial element given the location of the installation. This feature effectively negates any issues with downdraft, ensuring optimal stove performance regardless of weather conditions.
Quality Assurance: Commissioning and Testing the Milan Lux Multifuel Stove
Upon completing the physical installation, our commitment to excellence continued. We meticulously commissioned the stove, conducting thorough tests to ensure every aspect of its operation met our high standards.
Only when we were entirely satisfied with its performance did we sign off on the project, confident in the knowledge that we had delivered a heating solution that was not only efficient but also safe and compliant with all relevant regulations.
