Day 1: Preparing the Recess

The first task was to board the recess with A1 fire-rated boards. We meticulously measured and cut four boards to fit the large recess, ensuring they were securely attached to each wall. The corners and edges were joined with fireproof sealant to provide a robust and safe foundation for the stove installation.

Day 2: Slate Hearth and Flue Liner Installation

The second day involved several critical steps. Initially, we measured, cut, and laid a 30mm slate hearth, providing a durable and heat-resistant base for the stove. Following this, we accessed the roof to drop the flue liner, which was then secured in the roof space. An adapter was attached in the fireplace, setting the stage for the stove installation.

Day 3: Stove Installation and Final Touches

On the final day, we installed the Ecosy Panoramic stove and connected it to the flue using a vitreous enamel pipe. We also measured, cut, and installed a registration board using A1 fireboard. This board protects against falling debris and prevents heat loss through the chimney. After the physical installation, we tested and commissioned the stove to ensure it operated flawlessly, marking the successful completion of the project.
