Unique Installation Challenges in a Purpose-Built Corner Setting
The property presented us with an interesting scenario – a former agricultural building thoughtfully transformed into a high-quality holiday accommodation.
The owners had specifically designed a corner space to house a multifuel stove, creating both a practical heating solution and an attractive focal point for guests.
This purpose-built area required precise planning to ensure the stove would be positioned optimally for both aesthetics and heat distribution.
F2 Accona Slider: Elegant Heating Solution for Contemporary Living Spaces
The F2 Accona Slider chosen for this installation offers impressive features that make it perfect for this converted space.
With its sleek design and large viewing window, this 5KW stove provides an excellent view of the flames while delivering efficient heat output.
The sliding door mechanism ensures easy loading and maintenance, while the airwash system helps keep the glass clean for uninterrupted flame viewing.
Its compact footprint made it ideal for the corner installation, while still providing ample heating capacity for the open-plan living area.
Expert Installation Process for the Multifuel Stove Install in Llanelli
We approached this installation with meticulous attention to detail.
After assessing the purpose-built corner space, we determined that positioning the stove at a 45-degree angle would provide optimal heat distribution throughout the room.
This arrangement would ensure guests could enjoy the visual appeal of the flames while benefiting from efficient heating.
The property owners had already constructed a suitable hearth and surround, providing a solid foundation for our installation.
Our first step involved precise measurement and marking of the ceiling for the flue exit point.
Using specialised equipment, we carefully cut through the ceiling to create the necessary aperture.
Moving to the exterior, we located the corresponding roof tiles that required removal.
We delicately removed six tiles and cut through the underlying felt membrane to create a clean passage for the flue system.
Back inside, we began the systematic assembly of the twin wall flue components, ensuring perfect alignment and secure connections at every stage.
Safety Measures and Client Handover by Wood Burner installers Llanelli, Carmarthenshire
The integrity of the flue system is paramount for both safety and efficiency.
We fitted an adjustable roof support to the flue and secured it firmly to the rafters, providing robust stability.
For weatherproofing, we installed a lead flashing and carefully repositioned the original tiles to maintain the roof’s aesthetic appearance and watertight properties.
A storm collar was then sealed around the lead flashing, offering additional protection against water ingress.
We extended the flue system with an additional metre of piping and topped it with an anti-downdraft cowl to prevent backdrafts.
This ensures optimal drawing performance in all weather conditions.
Inside the property, we fitted a round trim around the flue where it passed through the ceiling, creating a neat, professional finish.
Safety is always our priority, so we installed a carbon monoxide alarm in the appropriate location.
We also secured the data plate in a position where it could be easily referenced by the property owner or future service engineers.
Thorough Testing and Quality Assurance
Upon completing the physical installation, we conducted comprehensive testing to ensure everything functioned perfectly.
A smoke test was performed to verify the integrity of the flue system and check for any potential leaks.
We then lit a small fire in the stove and carried out a flue draught test to confirm proper ventilation and drawing.
Throughout the installation process, we maintained a clean working environment.
Upon completion, we thoroughly cleaned the work area, wiped down the stove and flue system.
We removed all packaging and debris, as our commitment to leaving a pristine finish is as important to us as the technical excellence of our installations.
Delighted Clients and a Stunning Focal Point
The completed installation transformed the converted milking shed into a truly special retreat.
The F2 Accona Slider now stands as both a reliable heat source and a captivating focal point in this unique holiday accommodation.
