Go Eco 5 Stove Installation: Precision and Expertise in Action

Our stove installation in Seven Sisters for the Go Eco 5 wood burning stove was meticulous and tailored to the unique requirements of the detached bungalow.

We began by preparing the area, cutting slate to the required size and carefully laying it in position. The existing carpet was precisely cut with a sharp Stanley blade to accommodate the new installation.

Foundation and Flue Work

We ensured a stable foundation by levelling the floor with wet cement before laying the slate. From the roof, we expertly guided the Selfex Liner down the chimney and fitted an adaptor.

To create an efficient 90° bend, we installed two 45° vitreous bends onto the adaptor. This setup allowed for the fire to sit comfortably in the room, connected via the rear outlet.

Wall Protection and Aesthetic Enhancement

To protect the brick wall behind the stove, we cut two 900mm x 900mm slates down to 600mm. We then carefully cut two semi-circles out of these slates to accommodate the flue. The slates were skillfully slid in from either side, fitting together seamlessly in the middle. A debris collar was fitted to seal the joint, ensuring both safety and visual appeal.

Roof Work and Safety Measures

On the roof, we cut the liner to the required length and fitted a pot hanging cowl. To ensure a weatherproof seal, we cemented around the chimney pot.

Inside the house, we installed a carbon monoxide alarm and data plate, prioritising the safety of the homeowners.

Testing and Customer Education: Ensuring Optimal Performance

After the installation was complete, we thoroughly tested the fire and flue for any potential leaks. We then took the time to explain the basic usage of the fire to the customer, even lighting a small fire to demonstrate its operation.
