Preparing the Foundation

The installation commenced with a meticulous approach to accessing the chimney flue. Our team skillfully opened up the roof, carefully stripping back approximately eight slates to create an access point. This precision ensured minimal disruption to the existing roof structure.

Installing the Liner

Dropping the Selflex 5″ flexible liner into the chimney required both precision and patience. Securing it at the bottom and attaching a termination plate at the top, our engineers used titan bolts to anchor the setup firmly to the brickwork. This step was critical for ensuring a safe and efficient fire operation.

Finalising the Exterior Setup

Refitting the roof slates around the newly installed twin-wall flue while integrating lead flashing ensured a watertight seal. The installation of a storm collar and cowl provided the necessary protection against the elements, securing the integrity of the chimney system.

Interior Connection and Testing

Inside the house, we removed the spigot from the fire, attaching it directly to the bottom of the flue. The Ecosy+ 1500 model was then slid into the opening and connected internally. A comprehensive smoke test, along with flue draught checking, ensured the system’s safety and functionality. The final step included fitting a carbon monoxide alarm and a data plate, followed by a detailed explanation of the fire’s basic usage to the customer.
