Project Details & Wood Burner Installation Process

After surveying the site, we first removed the old cast iron cooking range and opened the wall between rooms to create one unified space. With the wall opened up, we fitted sturdy lintels on either side to support the new passageway structurally. Next, we precisely measured and cut a slate slab to fashion a smooth, seamless hearth below the stove’s installation site.

Venturing outdoors, we carefully opened the roof to lower our flexible liner down the chimney. After securely attaching a termination plate, 1 meter of twin wall piping, weatherproof flashing, and a cowl, we resealed the roof to prevent leaks.

Returning indoors, we connected an adaptor to the chimney liner before cutting and fitting a registry board on both sides of the new opening. After boarding up the space for tiling, we rendered the pillar faces surrounding the fireplace, preparing the surfaces for skimming.

With the preliminary work complete, we attached vitreous piping to the liner and positioned the Ecosy Hampton wood burning stove in the passageway’s center. After sealing and fastening the flue to the fire chamber, we installed two wooden beams on either side of the opening for added structural support.

Before concluding the project, we rigorously tested the stove to ensure optimal performance. We also installed a CO alarm as a safety precaution and an informational data plate detailing the stove’s specifications. After thoroughly cleaning the site, we walked the client through basic stove operation procedures.
