Multifuel Stove Specs and Installation Highlights
For this semi-detached Skewen property, we recommended the Stovebuddy Classic Wide multifuel stove, a handsome yet highly functional model boasting 5KW of heating power.
To complete the installation, we first cleared the chimney of any debris that could obstruct airflow or pose safety issues. Once the chimney was clear, we lowered a 5″ Selflex flexible liner down the chimney, attaching a pot hanging cowl and cementing around the existing pot to seal off the top.
With the chimney prepped, we shifted focus to the fireplace itself. We leveled the recess floor to create a smooth, even base for the slate hearth we would install. Next, we rendered the three sides of the recess with cement to give the walls a uniform appearance.
Once the recess walls were cured, we measured and cut the slate slab to size before laying it on top of wet cement placed within the recess. We took care to properly fit, level, and secure the slate hearth.
The next step was to measure and cut the vitreous pipe, attaching it securely to the flue adaptor on the stove. We offered the stove up to the vitreous pipe and connected the two components. We also fitted a debris collar and carefully checked the positioning and measurements of the stove on the finished hearth.
Before the installation, we installed a carbon monoxide alarm and data plate, conducted a smoke test to confirm proper draw, and provided the client with a basic usage explanation and safety overview. Finally, we thoroughly cleaned the area and cleared all tools and equipment.
Completed 5KW Stovebuddy Classic Wide Stove Install
Given the property’s age, we had to contend with some quirks of the existing fireplace and chimney to ensure the multifuel stove would integrate seamlessly and safely. Our installer leveraged their expertise to work around these challenges and actualise the customer’s vision for a traditional yet efficient stove. The Stovebuddy Classic Wide was the ideal solution, providing an authentic style reminiscent of a wood-burning fire and the convenience of accepting wood and smokeless fuel.
A Multifuel Fire to Warm the Heart and Home
The client was absolutely thrilled with the finished result. The Stovebuddy stove aligns beautifully with the character of this semi-detached home, emitting a welcoming glow and reliable warmth through the autumn and winter months ahead. We always aim to deliver the highest level of service and satisfaction with every installation, and this particular wood burner stove project in Skewen was no exception.
