Day 1: Precision and Foundation

On the first day of the project, our team measured and cut a 30mm slate hearth to the customer’s precise specifications, fitting it neatly into a 90° corner of the room. The Mazona Wicklow 4 ECO stove was then positioned and aligned at a 45° angle into the room, ensuring compliance with the manufacturer’s specified distances.

Next, we measured and aligned the flue to exit the wall at a 45° angle, marking the exit hole meticulously. Using a breaker drill, we carefully opened the wall, realigned the stove, and securely ran the flue through the hole, ensuring it was properly sealed. The successful completion of these tasks marked the end of Day 1.

Day 2: Flue Installation and Final Touches

Day 2 commenced with running and bracketing the flue up the pine end of the house and around the soffit to meet regulatory standards. We fitted two trim plates, inside and out, to ensure the hole was fully sealed, adhering to the customer’s preference for a black Twin Wall flue inside and a silver Twin Wall flue outside.

The final step involved testing and commissioning the stove to complete the job, ensuring everything was in perfect working order.
